Volunteering for Plymouth Age Concern is very rewarding whether you work directly or indirectly with our service users. Whatever your desired role, you know that you are benefiting the community and the older person of Plymouth.

At times we have specific volunteering roles which requires us to actively advertise.

Volunteering for Plymouth Age Concern is very rewarding

Knowing that you have made a difference to the life of an older person is verypleasing. Giving your time directly to the older person or by helping the Charity to help the older person gives you a feeling of achievement. On behalf of the Charity we say thank you in giving your generous time.

The types of opportunities that we have had currently available has been:

  • Helping in our Day Centres or Residential Home
  • Providing arts & crafts, exercise & dance, musical or leisure sessions
  • Volunteer Driving - to help transport guests between their homes and the day centres (mileage allowance paid).
  • Minibus drivers (for outings & events)
  • Administrative and reception support
  • Gardening at our centres
  • Becoming a Trustee
  • Fundraising
  • Assisting in our kitchens and coffee shops
  • Information and Advice
  • Advocacy
  • Training (course delivery)
  • Teaching older people to use technology (computer skills, mobile phones etc.)
  • and many more !
