Phone Friends

The Phone Friends service is for older people who have become isolated or are feeling lonely – perhaps because they live alone, do not have family nearby, or find it difficult to go out.

Phone Friends is a service that telephones you, on days that suit you and at times that are convenient for you. We offer the support that you'd expect from a friend – someone to talk to, about how you are and how things are going.

Phone Friends offers

• Trained staff and volunteers who have regular supervision and are sensitive to the needs of older people.
• regular and reliable telephone contact for socially isolated older people
• support that encourages older people to maintain their independence and make
  their own choices
• links to other services that may be useful
• confidentiality – all telephone calls are kept confidential, in accordance with our Confidentiality Policy
