The Chubby Fund Raiser
Plymouth Age Concern's newest recruit, Neil Trigger has pledged to lose three stone in weight to help raise money for the charity.
Neil was taken on at the beginning of May as marketing and fundraising manager to lead the local, independent charity's marketing and fund raising activites. Since they decided not to join the national Age UK, there has been some confusion over the identity of Plymouth Age Concern (charity No. 281820) and Neil is determined to lose weight in a pledge to help increase awareness for the work they do as well as funds.
Neil is based at the William Venton Centre in Plymstock (top of the Broadway Shopping Centre Car Park) where the Active Ageing Centre is located. The diet starts this week and will be acompanied by a rigorous training regime including Karate, Cycling, running and playing fast-tempo songs on his drums.
“There have been many changes in my life recently” Neil said “I moved house over the bank holiday, and with the change of job to Plymouth Age Concern last month, losing weight seemed like the next logical step. The only thing that concerns me is the temptation provided by the excellent cakes (cooked on site), but the support of all the sponsors and the motivation to help raise money for this excellent cause will hopefully keep me on track. ”
