Dementia Awareness Week

To help raise the local profile of next week's dementia awareness week, Plymouth Age Concern is hosting a coffee morning and information event on Monday the 6th of June. The event will be held from 10am in Elsepeth Sitters House (Hoegate Street) on the Barbican. Stands will be in attendance from Plymouth Age Concern's own Riverview Dementia unit to help educate people about the condition.

As one of the biggest providers of dementia care and respite in the area, Plymouth Age Concern have also given their support to the Plymouth Dementia Alliance, launched recently by the Lord Mayor in Plymouth City Council Chambers a few weeks ago.

Organisers say that the coffee morning is open to anyone whether they have dementia themselves, they are carers of someone with dementia or anyone wishing to find out more about dementia.
