Welcome to “a voyage of self-discovery to motivate, inspire and build confidence for people to move closer to or into work”.
Plymouth Age Concern has been running a successful workclub called "Plymouth 50+" for people who are 50 or over since March 2011. This FREE workclub meets once a week and provides various talks and interactive sessions from local employers, employment agencies and training organisations. The workclub has also provided mock interviews, advice on CV writing, understanding the recruitment process and help with IT. In fact anything the group needs help with to get them back into work. We have had over forty people attend the workclub on one time or another in the past 10 months. Through our workclub, being a local employer and for helping people who are 50 or over Plymouth Age Concern understands the needs of people who are 50 or over looking for work.
To help tackle these needs we have been able to gain funding support from Job Centre Plus to provide a 9 week programme that aims to motivate, inspire and build confidence in people as they move closer to or into work.
If you are 50 or over and claiming Job Seekers Allowance then you are eligible to join our FREE 9 week programme titled, DiscoverMe, I am your next employee.

The DiscoverMe programme offers you the opportunity to learn more about yourself, prepare a CV that you are proud of, try something new, gain a certificate in emergency first aid, try out volunteering, receive feedback from an interview, attain a reference, improve your IT skills, meet employers and celebrate your success and that of your group.
